You makin' Easter eggs mom???

That was what Kit asked me today. She saw the buckets of color and thought EASTER EGGS!!!! Well, she was wrong. She got her hopes up. No Easter egg dying for a couple weeks yet. "What are you doing then?" she asked. "I am dying yarn of course!!!!" was my reply. "Oooohhhhh, you dyin yarn". Ya I decided to dye my yarn today, I just couldn't wait any longer. I wanted to know exactly how it would turn out, especially since if it does, I would love to make some nice variegated colored cotton yarn. Well I took a pic of what I needed then I took a pic of each bucket. I also took a picture of one skein (well it was in a skein lol) hanging up in the shower drying. I didn't take a picture of the rest because, well I don't like showing off my horrid looking shower walls!!!! Once the yarn dries, I'll take pics of it, I used three skeins of white, and one partial skein of ecru, just to see how it turns out.

***note to self: when dying yarn the next time, use a different color scrap yarn to separate the hank, it would make it a lot easier to untangle...
(I used white scraps of yarn to separate the hank so it didn't untangle, but here when I was done dying, I couldn't find those pieces of yarn that I tied, so it was a chore getting it untangled UGH lol.

And the knitting mysteries begin!

Here are the two books I got yesterday!!! Knit One, Kill Two and Needled to Death by Maggie Sefton. I tried to start the first one last night, but it didn't happen. "K" was listening to music with his headphones on, I thought great, I can read! Um no, he was singing VERY loudly and obnoxiously. I really couldn't concentrate enough to read, but I will start the book soon since I know a certain sister who would like it next!! Small post, but I just wanted to show off my new books! Happy day to ya! By the way, don't mind the pig pj pants, I took the picture with the books on my lap.

About needing more cotton...

Ya, about that. Well when bought all that cotton before and posted about it, I had said that I didn't have enough. Today though I was able to buy some more!!! Yup, that's right, "K" was nice and let me buy some, and the nice thing about it is, I didn't even ask!!!!!!!! He said this morning that he needed to buy some mice for the snake today. Then he said that we needed to stop and get something to eat because he was starving. He said we would probably get a movie for the girls too, and then he said oh and we will get you some yarn. Yippee for me!!!!!! I wasn't even going to look at the yarn until "K" was done getting the mice, but I couldn't stand being around them (the mice HAHA) for any longer. I went back to the yarn, and I didn't even stop and look at all the fancy stuff, nope I didn't, went right back to the cotton. I put a few in the cart, then "K" came over to where I was, and I asked him how much I could spend, he said, I don't know, just don't go overboard. Hmmmm, what exactly IS going overboard? Is buying 15 skeins of sugar'n cream going overboard? I don't think so, because he didn't say anything when I kept putting them in the cart hehe. While I was there I wanted to check on the prices of Rit dye. Honestly, all I wanted to do was check the price. So I pick one up and was reading the box, and "K" said just get it. I told him um, no honey I don't need to get it I just wanted to check the price and stuff on it so I know for future reference. He said well you can get one. Hmmmm what color do I choose? He was starting to get impatient, so I grabbed mauve. As soon as I grabbed that we headed straight to the checkout, I think he was afraid I was going to "look" at other things...

After we left that store, we went to McDonald's because he was starving. When he was ordering, I said, I only want a McChicken sandwich, well he started ordering and he ordered me a shamrock shake too! We had to stop at walmart before we went home because we needed some necessities. He stayed in the jeep with the two little ones and sent me inside, ummmmm bad idea! He told me to grab a movie for the kids along with the things we need around the house, you know all that boring stuff that you can't live without. I just had to check out the yarn. I saw a few cotton that I wanted, in the cart they went. Of course, I had bought the Rit dye so I needed some white to experiment, so in the cart the white went too. So all together I bought, or shall I say, "K" bought, 21 skeins.

Just in case you are interested in the color names, here they are: Early American Ombre, Twilight Ombre, Landscape, Faded Denim, Country Side Ombre, Seashore, Hot Blue, Hot Green, Playtime, Lemon-Lime, Sea Mist, Summer Splash, Soft Teal, Rose Pink, Hot Pink, Hot Purple, and Soft Violet, besides the three white lol. With what I bought today and what I had already, I now have 86 skeins of cotton, not including partials and scraps, and there are quite a few colors of peaches and cream that I would absolutely love to have, but can't find in stores around me, oh well, I think all this will keep me busy for awhile. And I leave you all with a picture of all my cotton...

For me? You shouldn't have!

See my new purse? Ya, sorry about the blurry picture, I took seven of them and that is the best one out of them all, my camera can suck a$$ sometimes. My sister bought it for me today when we were out and about running some of my errands. I like it a lot. Now that I have a purse that I actually like and will actually use, maybe I'll stop losing the things that should be in a purse or wallet. After we were done with all that we had to do, she treated us (we had the two little ones with us) to McDonald's for lunch. I was excited, I got a shamrock shake, mmmmm I love those. Kit was happy because she got a my little pony in her happy meal, she has seen the commercials that they have those at McDonald's and has been wanting to go and get one, you should have seen her eyes light up as soon as she got it. We sat in the play area and she wanted to play games when she was done eating. When she got done eating, there was a mom and dad with two kids in there, and she was too shy to play. So we just went home. It was a long day for me and the girls, so they should have no problems sleeping through the night.
I haven't written about knitting in awhile, so I thought I'd better. I have been knitting, not as much as I should be, but I have been none the less. I have been on a secret mission and if I say a word, well I'll vaporize, really I will! I've been making some dishcloths. I have to, have to show "K" that I really do need a lot of cotton yarn, this way maybe I'll get him to let me buy some more! I NEED MORE!!! lol. So here's a picture of three finished dishcloths and the top one is on the needles.

Silly kitten, those pants are for mommy!

Little miss Kit decided to rummage through the clean clothes that need to be folded. Can you see what she found? Yup, my jammy pants. Not only did she find them, but she decided to put them on. After putting them on, she told me, "look mom!! they fit me!!" I couldn't help but to bust a gut on that one. Ya, they fit her alright, uh huh, just like me saying I fit into her clothes lol. She can be such a character! She didn't tell me stories of her brain turning blue, her turning into a monster, or me turning into an alien tonight to make me laugh, just decided to wear clothes that were HUGE! lol. By now of course she has them off, she couldn't keep holding them up.

Oh Happy Day!!

Today was a good day, a good YARN day!!! I went shopping today, thanks to "K". He not only brought me there today, but he gave me the money to shop!!! The reason I wanted to go, like now, was because sugar'n cream yarn was on sale for 99cents. How could I pass that up? I couldn't, apparently, as you will see in the photos. I got 30, yup 30 lol. They didn't have the color selection I would have liked (all the colors hehehe) but I still splurged. I also picked up a pair of Susan Bates 10" size 7 needles. I will be making quite a lot of dishcloths very soon and need the shorter needles. Yes, I said I need the shorter needles, I have been working with 14" size 7's and they suck!!! I keep getting them caught up in the sleeves of my robe or my sweatshirt, not fun.

The other day I started rolling some of my cotton into balls since my wee little ones decided to play with it and tangle it all up. I started putting them in small zip lock bags since biffy can't open those yet like she can zippers. Then I ran out of bags. Hhmmmm. I thought for awhile, and then it hit me, put them in bigger zip lock bags. Fill one up and grab another. That's what I did, then I put all the smaller ones where I keep all of my needles and other knitting/crocheting supplies for later use. So all of my cotton is now in zip lock bags, not just the ones I rolled into balls.

In the picture up top you can see what I got today. You can see the needles too sitting with the yarn. Now I'll show ya closer pictures of the yarn, I know you wanna see it!! Even if you don't, I don't care I'm going to show you anyways, so there. Here we have dark pine and wine. Three of each, but I'm sure you noticed that lol.

Next up in my yarny goodness is two sage green, one jute, two delft blue, and one yellow. I would have bought another yellow but that's all they had. So I got the jute instead.

Now we have two warm brown, one patio pinks, and three tea rose.

This bag has two shaded denim, one rainbow bright, one pastel delight, one potpourri ombre, and one pastel print.

Last but not least, we have two swimming pool, one beach ball blue, two midnight magic, and one jewels. That's all of what I bought this morning, well other than the needles, but you can see those in the first picture with all the yarn.

So I figured since I had all of my cotton yarn out on my desk from putting it all in bags last night, and had the stuff I bought today still out, that I would take a picture of all my cotton. Here it is, all of it lol. The bag on the side is a bag of partial skeins and scraps. There is a total of 60 skeins/balls. Not counting the partials and scraps of course lol. What's sad about it, is I still don't think I have enough.....
