Kristin's first day of school

Today was Kristin's first day of school. She was very excited. She loved riding on the bus. When she got home from school she told me all about her day and told me that she has new friends. She told me that they went to the gym, and had to stand in a line and they pretended that they were a choo-choo train on the way to the gym. She had fruit snacks for snack time. She said she made a necklace and got to use some glue. And she said on the bus ride home, she sat by a girl that was the same size as her. So she had a really good day and can't wait until tomorrow when she gets to go back. Just thought I'd share her experience with you all.

Waiting for the bus.

Getting on the bus.

Old yarn purchase

It was requested that I share photo's of yarn I had bought a few weeks ago. So here it is. I bought some Caron Felt-It, in the colors Neon and Rose Garden, I thought those colors combined would make one funky felted bag for myself. The two skeins of Patons Classic Wool I bought in Rosewood, I don't have a plan for. I just loved the color and couldn't resist! Ok, I think I'm done posting for the day lol.

Who stole the butter?!?!?!

That's right, it was biffy who stole the butter! The little turd got into the fridge, grabbed the tub of margarine when I wasn't looking and ran into her bedroom! If it wasn't for her sister Kit ratting her out, there would have been an even bigger mess to clean up. Cute as you may think it is, it wasn't at the time. She was so greasy in the tub I had to wash her up three times, and I had to scrub the heck out of her hair to get it out. It could have been worse I guess, when Kit was her age she had gotten into a dozen eggs and broke them all over the kitchen floor, therefore I guess I could say thank goodness it was only butter! On a different note, I do have some knitting related things to write about.

Last Saturday it was my sister's bridal shower. I was helping my Auntie L carry things in from her car for the shower and she handed me a bag and said this is for you. I thought, wow for me? And then I saw what was in it, yarn and needles! Getting yarn and knitting needles out of the blue like that is the best surprise ever! Thank you so much Auntie L! On a side note, the shower was a fun, the food was great, and Sister J had fun and received some nice things. Which I won't share pictures of, so she can't get mad at me! hehehe

Ok, ok, this is suppose to be a knitting blog. Although I haven't been sharing much knitting at all. That's mainly because the only thing I've been knitting when I do pick up the needles are dishcloths. Well I finally casted on for my little sister's blanket (we'll call her little sister J) that she has been begging me for. I asked mom what her favorite color was and she said purple! So I bought the yarn about a month ago, and finally decided I better start so it will be done by Christmas, of course if I do slack there is always her birthday in February lol. She is unaware of the blanket in progress, so it's a big secret! Oh, and yes I do know that I only knitting 6 rows so far, no need to bring that to my attention LOL. The colors of the yarn that I chose are Dark Orchid and Plum Pudding.
I will definitely try to post more often, now that I found out that I have more than just a couple readers ((((BIG SMILES)))).

Haircut!

Just some pictures of Kit after I cut her hair tonight. Also a picture of all three of the girls on the loveseat.

Fun in the sun

One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong... Alright, so the picture of Sissy on the lawnmower doesn't go with the girls swimming in the pool, but it's cute and she thinks she is just so big and so cool, and of course she is so I had to put it up! So the big pool is what Grandpa H got the girls for their birthday, and the little pool that biffy is in, my sister bought. They just love swimming. Speaking of swimming, I need to drain the water out of the pool, scrub it, and fill it back up, looks like that's what I'm going to be doing tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Sissy and Kit!!

Well we didn't get too many birthday pictures this year, it seems that even though I was super busy and running my butt off constantly, no one else took the initiative to pick up the camera, as in K!!!!!!! Although he did get the picture of Kit pointing at her cake that fell on the ground and he also snapped the one of biffy and kk, so that was one nice thing I guess.

Vacation Time!!!

Ok, so it's not really vacation time. We left for vacation on June 1st. and returned home on June 9th. So, yes these pictures and this post is a little late, it's me, you should expect that! Well we took a trip to West Virginia, as you can see from the sign, to see K's Grandpa. It was K, K's dad, the girls, and me that went. The drive was a bit long, but it went surprisingly well with three kids. They all slept most of the way, thank goodness for that! The girls and I have never met K's Grandpa before this trip, and K hadn't seen him in years. It was a much needed trip. The girls had so much fun. Here are a few pictures we took when we were there.

Oh yes, have to throw in a few of the way home...

Birthday presents from my sister

This is what I got from my sister for my birthday yesterday. Yes the box of Golden Grahams was one of my gifts lol. She said they were on sale so she had to get me a box since they are my favorite lol. She also got me a pair of cute flip flops, but I forgot to take a picture of them. She brought over a chocolate cake that she made for me too, and in purple it said happy 25th becca, and of course she had to put all 25 candles on it. Then we went out to the bar for a couple drinks to celebrate.

More books? YUP!!!!

Two new books, courtesy of some hidden babysitting money and my mom's help! I can't wait until I get my new glasses so I can start reading these. And I know a couple others who will be interested in reading them too!!! Tonight I am going to place my order for the Mason-Dixon Knitting book, I'm so excited. My sister got me something for my birthday too, which I took a picture of, I just need to get it put onto my computer so I can post about it, I'll do it tonight but not until later, I need to hop off of here and give the little one a bath and get her to sleep for the night. I just wanted to share my books since I took a picture of them yesterday.

Happy Early Birthday TO ME!!!!

Yes, happy early birthday to me, indeed! This morning I was snuggling on the couch with my sickie icky kids who were sleeping, when I heard a knock on the front door. I sprung up as fast as I could, because I knew who was knocking at the door. It was my mail lady bringing me a package!!! WOO-HOO!!! I ran to the front door so fast that I stubbed my damn toe on the wooden toy chest that we have in our living room right before the hallway to the front door. I really need to get that thing out to the shed, there's no room for it in here. Anyhow, so I got to the door opened it up and got my package, and almost forgot to grab my other mail from her, I was just so excited LOL. I got my other mail and thanked my mail lady and went inside. This time I did not run back to the living room in fear of hurting myself. I sat down in front of the computer and tried my hardest just to rip the box open. It didn't work, I had to bring it into the kitchen to use a knife lol. I just wanted it open and like NOW!!! lol. Once I got the box opened, there it was, all the stuff "K" ordered for me from Knit Picks! There was a hank of Wool of the Andes Bulky in navy, three skeins of Crayon in Periwinkle, three skeins of Shine Worsted in Wisteria (oh my, so totally soft!!), three skeins of Essential in Fawn, the Arctic Landscape Purse pattern (which looks way super hard to do!!), a set of point protectors (I only have three, ya I don't know what happened to the fourth, but it's gone, so I needed another set lol), size 2 and 3 circular needles, 24" knitting cables, and size 6 needle tips. So I believe this is my early mother's day/birthday present from "K". Which is fine by me, I'm just so happy that he ordered this stuff I wanted, what do ya know, he can be a great guy!!! LOL. Just kidding, I love him! But him buying me these goodies sure does help lol. So now I need to finish up a few things I have started, and knit up some dishcloths for my mom for mother's day, then I can start knitting a gauge swatch for either Biffy's tank top or her shrug, I haven't decided which one I want to do first. Oh, in case you were wondering, the crayon yarn is for her tank, and the essential yarn is for her shrug. And now I must stop talking about my goodies and stop playing with my goodies (the YARN people!!! Get your minds out of the gutter!! LOL) and get the girls some lunch and some more Tylenol.

Crime scene photos, viewer discretion advised!!

I'm sad to say that something horrible has happened tonight at our home. It appears that Mr. Brown Bear has been slain!! That's right, in our own home!! But who would do such a thing to a sweet and loving bear? After the initial shock of stumbling upon such a horrific crime scene wore off, I realized right away who did this to him! Do you want to know who the culprit is? Why it is our very own Kit!!!! That's right, she did it. Poor, poor Mr. Bear. There will be a private service, just the family. Mr. Bear will be buried in the dumpster later this week. Please feel free to stop by and say a few prayers for him. Rest in peace Mr. Bear, you will always be in our hearts.

Just some cute pics

Here's a picture of sissy and biffy in the explorer, we were waiting for their daddy to come out and I get bored easily, so I took out my camera and took a picture. I would have snapped one of kit but she was in with her daddy going potty. So I threw in this picture of her. She decided to get herself dressed for school last week, what do ya think? It was a cute attempt, but I made her change before we left lol.

Easter Bunny!!

I took the girls to an Easter egg hunt a week or so ago. They had lots of fun! It was a cold and rainy day, but that didn't stop the girls! Although kit had some problems with just grabbing eggs since there were so many people around, she still did good, I just held her hand and told her it was ok to pick up the eggs. I had to tell her that for every egg, but it worked so she wasn't scared. She ended up with 10 eggs and sissy ended up getting 9. I left biffy with my mom since it was nasty out, I didn't want her to get real sick. So the two older girls got to meet and get their picture taken with the Easter bunny, and poor biffy missed out. I don't think she minded though, she would have screamed bloody murder if I would have put her on that bunny's lap! Plus she had fun with her grandma.

You makin' Easter eggs mom???

That was what Kit asked me today. She saw the buckets of color and thought EASTER EGGS!!!! Well, she was wrong. She got her hopes up. No Easter egg dying for a couple weeks yet. "What are you doing then?" she asked. "I am dying yarn of course!!!!" was my reply. "Oooohhhhh, you dyin yarn". Ya I decided to dye my yarn today, I just couldn't wait any longer. I wanted to know exactly how it would turn out, especially since if it does, I would love to make some nice variegated colored cotton yarn. Well I took a pic of what I needed then I took a pic of each bucket. I also took a picture of one skein (well it was in a skein lol) hanging up in the shower drying. I didn't take a picture of the rest because, well I don't like showing off my horrid looking shower walls!!!! Once the yarn dries, I'll take pics of it, I used three skeins of white, and one partial skein of ecru, just to see how it turns out.

***note to self: when dying yarn the next time, use a different color scrap yarn to separate the hank, it would make it a lot easier to untangle...
(I used white scraps of yarn to separate the hank so it didn't untangle, but here when I was done dying, I couldn't find those pieces of yarn that I tied, so it was a chore getting it untangled UGH lol.
